 Australia vs England women's cricket.

On Day 3 of the Women's Ashes Test at Trent Bridge on Saturday, Beth Mooney and phoebe Litchfield gave Australia a good start in their second essay after the visitor had grabbed a slim 10-run lead in the first innings. The opening pair up an unbroken 82- run stand after England was dismissed for 463 earlier in the day despite Tammy Beaumont's records double ton.

The first English woman to reach a double century in a test was the English opener, who had already scored a century on day 2. After starting the day with 218 for 2, England received a fortuitous break when in the fourth over of the morning, Kim garth forced an edge off Nat Sciver-brunt that sailed between the second and third slip without either fielder reaching for a catch. in the following over, Beaumont attacked Darcie Brown. All for boundaries, a push, a punch and a pull.

To reach her half-century, Sciver-Brunt sliced Brown for another boundary in the following over. but Annabel Sutherland was the target of her onslaught, and she quickly broke through three consecutive limits. The pair made sure England didn't have to bat further as their 137-run third wicket stand ended when Sciver- Brunt edged an Ash Gardner cut to the keeper. the off spinners flat and quick style of play was quite efficient in making it easier for the hitters to dismiss her. Sophia Dunkley's failed, slog sweep gave Gardner her third wicket of the innings, making it the most wickets she has taken in a test match, just after lunch.

in her first test, Danni Wyatt, 32, left a lasting impact. she started off by hitting Alana king for a boundary with the clean cover drive, she grabbed Gardner, faced jess Jonasen head-on and threw her bat at any opening the pacer presented. when she opened the face of the bat to slip fielder off brown, her amusing cameo came to an end six runs short of a half-century. before Tea, Australia scored again when Amy jones flicked Ellyse Perry to the middle of the pitch.

after Betty Snowball was surpassed as the highest scorer for an England women's innings, Beaumont moved into the 190s in the following over by cutting Sutherland through point for a boundary. after Tea, the hosts' pace had slowed down, but a few overs later, Beaumont completed her double century by tucking Sutherland through the leg side for a single.

but after a few boundaries, England started to fall apart. Tahlia McGrath caught Sophie Ecclestone earlier. she was beyond help-not even a review. in her following two overs, the medium pacer dismissed Kate cross ana a caught Lauren filer behind. As the batter attempted to go for a slog but missed it, Gardner cleaned up Beaumont to claim her fourth wicket of the game, ending England's innings.

Short scores: Australia leads England 463 (Tammy Beaumont 208, Nat Sciver-Brunt 78; Ash Gardner 4-99, Tahlia McGrath 3-24) by 92 runs with 473 (Annabel Sutherland 137*, Elysse Perry 99; Sophie Ecclestone 5-129) and 82/0 (Phoebe Litchfield 41*).
