Cricket World Cup 2023 Schedule: The 2023 ODI World Cup schedule has been released. The competition begins on October 5 in Ahmedabad when the defending champions England play on New Zealand.

When India plays Australia on October 8, their tournament will officially begin.

Additionally, the thrilling India vs. Pakistan match will take place at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on October 15.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), which is anticipated to disclose the complete schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup scheduled to take place in India later this year, may finally put an end to the wait today.

For the first time, India will be the lone host nation for the major event this year.

India, a two-time past champion of the ODI world cup, has served as joint hosts in 1987, 1996, and 2011.

But the ICC stated that it would start the trophy tour by releasing the medals into orbit a day before the competition. The trophy descended on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at a height of 120,000 feet.

The World Cup Trophy was affixed to a specially made stratospheric balloon to accomplish the feat. Using 4K cameras, the amazing images of the renowned cutlery perched on the edge of the Earth's atmosphere were recorded. With a max altitude temperature of -65°C, the balloon traversed more than 99.5% of the Earth's atmosphere, according to ICC.

Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, referred to cricket as a unifying force.

"Cricket unites India like no other sport, and excitement is building across the country as we prepare to host the 10 best teams in the world over six weeks of heart-stopping cricket," Shah said in a statement.

The Trophy Tour is a terrific opportunity for supporters to participate in the tournament wherever they are as we countdown to the World Cup. The Tour will travel widely across India, showcasing famous locations, cities, and landmarks while also encouraging people to partake in the thrill of cricket's greatest show, the official website said.

Ten teams in all, including the quadrennial host nation India, two qualifiers, England, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, and two more teams, will compete.

There are ten teams competing in the qualification event being held in Zimbabwe right now, including West Indies, who have won it twice in the past.
