Sri Lanka defeats Netherlands by 128 runs in the final of the ICC World Cup qualifying series.
Following the confirmation of their respective entries into the 50-over World Cup in India, which begins on September 5, both sides were originally announced as qualifying teams.
After defeating the Netherlands by 128 runs in the championship match of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers, Sri Lanka emerged victorious in Harare.
Sri Lanka, who has been in excellent form in the one-day game, recorded their tenth straight victory.
Following the confirmation of their respective entries into the 50-over World Cup in India, which begins on September 5, both sides were previously designated as qualifying teams. The Netherlands will serve as Qualifier 2 while Sri Lanka will compete in the main event as Qualifier 1.
Sri Lanka was given the chance to bat after Netherlands won the toss.
Bowlers put up a lot of effort to limit the Lions to 233 runs in 47.5 overs. However, the hitters came up short, scoring only 105 runs before being dismissed after 23.3 overs.
With the exception of Sahan Arachchige, who scored a 71-ball 57, Sri Lankan batters managed to get off to starts but failed to convert.
Pathum Nissanka, Sri Lanka's centurion from the most recent game, scored 23, while Kusal Mendis amassed 43 runs before losing to Saqib Zulfiqar. With the bat, leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga contributed significantly, scoring 29 runs off 21 balls in the closing stages of the game.
Only three batsmen for the Netherlands were able to score in the double digits, with Max O'Dowd scoring 33 from 63 balls. The other batters were Logan van Beek (20) and Vikramjeet Singh (13).
Maheesh Theekshana picked up four wickets for 31 runs, while Dilshan Madushanka and Hasaranga each took three and two wickets.
